브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령 당선인측은 8일 조국 전 법무부 장관이 "부산대와 고려대가 각각 제 딸의 입학을 취소했다. 아비로서 윤 당선자에게 '이제 만족하시냐' 묻고 싶다"고 밝힌 데 대해 "그것을 왜 당선인에 묻는지 의아한데 납득이 되느냐"고 받아쳤다.
조국 전 장관은 이날 자신의 페이스북에 "‘윤석열 검찰’은 사모펀드 건으로 법무부 장관 후보자를 잡아넣지 못했지만, 자식의 인턴·체험활동을 문제삼아 끌어내렸고, 그 배우자를 잡아넣었다"며 "그 결과 자식의 입학은 취소됐다"고 말했다.
조 전 장관은 이어 "윤석열 대통령 임명직 고위공직자를 저, 그리고 제 가족과 똑같은 기준을 적용해 검증해 달라"며 "언론의 집중기획 취재와 신속하고 광범한 검찰 특수부의 압수수색을 통해 후보자 자식의 생활기록부에 기재된 인턴·체험활동 기록과 발급된 상장 및 증명서 등을 샅샅이 점검하고, 활동 시간이 한치의 차이도 없이 정확히 기재되어 있는지, 증명서에 대한 평가와 활동이 빈틈없이 일치하는지 등을 확인해야 한다"고 주장했다.
그러면서 "이래야만 ‘선택적 정의’가 아니다 하겠다"며 "법치는 윤석열 당선자 및 그 가족, 그리고 그가 지명한 고위공직자 후보에게도 적용되어야 한다"고 덧붙였다.
이에 대해 배현진 대변인은 브리핑을 통해 "조국 전 장관 자녀 일이라 윤 당선인이 대답할 일은 아닌 것 같다"고 일축하며 "다만 조민씨 관련 입장이 아니라 새 대한민국은 이전 인사들이 국민께 실망을 안긴 공정, 상식에 부합하지 않는 모습 보이지 않기 위해 최선을 다하겠다는 말씀을 드린다"고 말했다.
한편, 부산대학교는 지난 5일 조민씨의 의전원 입학을 취소하기로 했다. 고려대학교 역시 지난 7일 조민씨의 입학 허가를 취소하기로 심의, 의결했다고 밝혔다. 이에 따라 보건복지부에서도 조씨의 의사면허 취소 절차에 들어갈 전망이다.
반면 조씨측은 두 학교를 대상으로 입학 취소 처분을 취소하라는 행정소송을 제기했다.
