고양시가 고봉산 전망대 조성사업을 내달 9일까지 완료할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
고봉산 전망대 조성사업은 고봉산 정상부에 북한산과 일몰을 조망할 수 있는 전망대 2개소를 설치하는 사업으로, 기존 등산로와도 연결해 고봉산을 찾는 시민들에게 새로운 볼거리와 휴식 공간을 제공할 예정이다.

사업비 10억 원을 투입, 1,684㎡ 면적에 전망대 2개소와 데크로드 및 진입계단을 250m가량 조성한다.
전망대 1개소는 동측 공터에 설치, 북한산과 일산동구를 조망할 수 있도록 하고, 나머지 1개소는 탄현지구와 일몰을 조망할 수 있도록 서북방향에 설치된다.
산림훼손을 최소화하기 위해 전망대와 보행데크는 정상부 주변 공터에, 진입 계단은 수목 벌채 없이 나무와 어우러지게 설치할 예정이다.
지난 15일에는 이재준 고양시장이 조성사업 현장을 찾아 막바지 공사현장을 점검했다.

현재 목재 데크와 전망기초 공간을 설치하는 중으로, 내달 9일까지 공사를 마무리하고 전망 데크 주변에는 철쭉 동산을 조성할 계획이다.
