고양시가 버스업체 경쟁력을 확보하고 시 재정 부담을 줄이기 위해 제4차 고양시 지방대중교통계획 수립 용역을 실시한다.

시는 4월 20일 지방대중교통계획 수립 용역 입찰 공고를 고양시 홈페이지에 게시했다고 전했다.
고양시는 수도권 광역급행열차(GTX-A), 대곡~소사선, 고양은평선(고양시청~새절역)과 인천2호선 일산서구 연장(일산서구~인천서구), 일산선 연장(대화~금릉), 신분당선 서북부연장(삼송~용산), 대장홍대선(부천대장~홍대입구) 등 다양한 철도 노선을 구축할 예정이다.
또한 일산테크노밸리, 킨텍스 제3전시장 건립, CJ라이브시티 조성, 방송영상밸리, 창릉 3기신도시 조성, 장항스마트타운 등 굵직한 도시개발사업 추진에 따라 급격한 인구 증가와 통행량의 증가가 예상된다.
