국민의힘 유성구청장 예비후보인 김문영이 육군 군수사령부 이전 공약을 내놨다.
김문영 예비후보는 22일 “육군 군수사령부 이전으로 새로운 복합문화센터와 쾌적한 주거공간을 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
현재 군수사령부 부지는 유성구 반석동에 총 78만6780여㎡(23만평)규모이다.
육군군수사령부는 2007년 2월 부산에서 대전으로 이전한 후 고용창출 및 지역경제 활성화에 긍정적인 영향을 끼친 반면 수시로 헬기가 뜨고 내리는 소리 등으로 주민들이 소음에 시달리는 등 주민들과의 분쟁이 끊임없이 일어나고 있어 이전의 필요성이 대두되고 있다.
이에 김문영후보는 “군수사의 이전을 공약으로 내세우며 현재 이전 가능한 최적지로 자운대를 꼽으며 군수사령부가 이전할 만큼의 부지가 조성되어 있어 충분히 가능하다.”고 말했다.
군수사령부 부지에는 주거공간 및 문화와 예술이 어우러지는 복합문화공간을 조성하여 문화, 예술이 한곳에서 이루어질 수 있는 공간의 활용과 연구단지에 근무하는 젊은이들에게 주거공간을 마련하여 젊은이들이 유입시킴으로써 유성 인구 증가 및 지역경제 활성화가 기대된다.
