고양시 산불진화헬기 김정수 기장이 지난 6일 행정안전부장관 표창장을 받았다.
김정수 기장은 지난 3월 경북?강원 지역에 발생한 대형 산불 진화작전에 투입돼 활약했다.
김정수 기장은 35년간 헬기를 조종한 베테랑이다.
육군항공, 경찰청항공, 경기도소방항공 등 25년간 공직에 있으면서 군 수송·지원, 대테러 및 산악구조업무를 수행했으며 현재는 민간항공사에서 산불진화헬기 조종업무를 맡고 있다.
지난 3월에는 대형 산불 피해가 발생한 경북?강원지역에 투입돼 산불 진화에 공로했다.

김정수 기장은 “전국에 많은 산불현장에 투입돼 진화활동을 펼쳤지만 이번 경북?강원 산불은 규모면에서 상상을 초월했다. 진화에 어려움이 많았지만 함께 참여한 분들 덕분에 무사히 업무를 마칠 수 있었다. 고마움을 함께 나누겠다”고 밝혔다.
