신천지예수교 증거장막성전(총회장 이만희‧이하 신천지예수교회)은 10일자 보도자료에서 “지난4월18일부터 5월1일까지 2주간 단체 헌혈을 마치고 대한적십자사에 헌혈증서 31,528장, 112,802,000원 상당 헌혈 기부권을 전달했다”고 전하면서 “신천지예수교회는 9일 서울남부혈액원에서 대한적십자사 혈액관리본부와 헌혈증서 및 기부권 전달식을 갖고 2주간 헌혈 캠페인을 통해 모은 헌혈증서와 헌혈 기부권 일체 및 성도들이 그동안 헌혈에 참여하면서 모은 헌혈증서를 더해 전달했다. 이날 전달식에는 신천지예수교 총회본부 양진숙 봉사교통부장과 혈액관리본부 조남선 본부장 및 양측 관계자가 참석했다”고 밝혔다.
조남선 혈액관리본부장은 “코로나19 오미크론 영향이 정점에 이르렀을 때 신천지예수교회에서 단체헌혈에 나서주셔서 혈액수급에 있어 가뭄에 단비와도 같았다. 정말 감사드린다”며 “3일 만에 6천 명을 달성하고도 이어서 참여해주셔서 놀랐다. 성도님들께서 헌혈을 통해 생명을 구한다는 의식이 있으셨기에 열심히 하셨다고 생각한다”고, 감사의 마음을 피력했다.
신천지예수교회측은 “지난 4월18일부터 5월1일까지 2주간 진행한 헌혈 캠페인에서 총 27,175명이 참여, 18,628명이 헌혈을 완료해 단일단체, 최단기간 최대 규모를 기록하며 혈액 수급난을 해소하는데 큰 역할을 했다”고 덧붙였다.
혈액관리본부 관계자는 “신천지예수교회가 생명나눔 운동에 정말 큰 일을 해주셨다. 이같은 규모는 1개 군단이 1년에 걸쳐 헌혈한 사례와 견줄 수 있다”며 “18,628명이라는 헌혈 인원은 우리나라에서 하루에 필요로 하는 헌혈인원 5,400명의 4배에 근접한 인원으로 코로나19로 인한 혈액수급 위기상황 극복에 큰 도움이 됐다”고 말했다. 이 관계자는 “지난 2020년 코로나19 치료제 개발을 위해 성도들이 단체 혈장 공여를 완료한 데 이어 이번에도 혈액 수급 위기상황 속에서 전국 규모 단체 헌혈에 동참해주신 신천지예수교회 성도님들께 감사드린다”고 말했다.
이날 대한적십자사에 전달한 헌혈증서는 수술 또는 치료과정에서 수혈 받은 환자들의 경제적 부담 경감을 위해 지원되고 헌혈기부권도 사회에 꼭 필요한 기부사업에 활용될 예정이다.
신천지예수교회 관계자는 “의학이 많이 발달했지만 여전히 혈액은 인공적으로 만들 수 없고 헌혈은 사람만이 할 수 있다. 국가적으로 혈액수급난을 겪고 있다는 말에 한 걸음에 달려와준 성도들께 감사를 전하며, 부지런히 빛과 소금의 역할을 하며 하나님께 영광을 올리는 신앙을 하겠다”며 “이번에 전달된 헌혈증서와 헌혈기부권이 꼭 필요한 곳에 전달되어 사용되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

The blood donation book delivered to the Korean Red Cross on that day will be supported to alleviate the financial burden of patients receiving blood transfusions during surgery or treatment, and the blood donation right will also be used for donation projects that are essential to society.
An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Although medicine has advanced a lot, blood still cannot be artificially made, and only humans can donate blood.
