최교진 세종시교육감 후보의 세 번째 정책 공약이 공개됐다.
최교진 후보는 17일 대평동 선거사무소에서 열린 제3회 정책공약 발표를 통해 “교육으로 특별한 세종교육특별자치시”의 비전과 구체적인 실천 계획을 발표했다.
최 후보는 “지난 10년 동안 기반 구축과 안정화에 온 힘을 쏟았다.”며 “안정기에 접어든 세종교육을 바탕으로 세종시 법을 개정하여 교육으로 특별한 세종교육특별자치시를 만들겠다.”고 밝혔다.
이어 최 후보는 “전국 17개 시도 중 세종시와 제주도만 ‘특별자치’지방자치단체인데, 제주도는 교육 관련 58개 조항 196개의 특례를 두고 있는 것에 반해 세종은 단 하나의 특례(재정특례)밖에 없다.”며 “특별자치시에 걸맞는 특별법 개정이 반드시 필요하며, 최선을 다해 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
최 후보는 특별법 개정을 통해 이루고자 하는 목표로 △학급당 학생 수 20명 실현을 위한 제도적 기반 마련 △미래형 학교 모델 실현 △세종형 유보통합 모델 실현 △선진 교육환경 구축을 위한 교육재정특례 확대 △사교육 걱정없는 방과후 돌봄 생태계 조성 △마을 단위 마을교육자치협의회 운영 △지역사회연계형 지속가능 발전교육 추진 등을 발표했다.
최 후보는 세종시법 개정을 세종시민과 세종교육공동체 함께 하기 위해 시민들의 제안 공모를 받고, 시민추진단을 운영하며, 세종시법 개정을 위한 전담 조직을 설립할 것을 약속했다.
