창원특례시, ‘LG스마트파크’방문

[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원특례시는 지난 3월 세계경제포럼(WEF)에서 ‘등대공장(Lighthouse Factory)’으로 선정된 LG전자 스마트파크를 방문했다고 19일 밝혔다.

류효종 스마트혁신산업국장을 비롯해 직원 10여 명이 방문해 국내 가전 업체 최초로 구축된 ‘지능형 공정 시스템’에 대한 설명을 듣고, 4차 산업혁명을 이끄는 기술이 구현되는 제조현장을 직접 확인하는 시간을 가졌다.

LG전자 스마트파크가 선정된 등대공장이란 세계경제포럼에서 2018년부터 매년 두 차례씩 선발하는 것으로 밤하늘에 등대가 불을 비춰 길을 안내하는 것처럼 제조업에 첨단 스마트 기술을 도입해 첨단 제조업을 선도하는 공장을 말한다. 전 세계에 103곳이 있으며, 우리나라에는 포스코(2019년), LS일렉트릭(2021년), LG전자(2022년) 3개사가 선정됐다.

류효종 스마트혁신산업국장은 “LG전자 가전 공장의 핵심 기지인 스마트파크 방문을 통해 미래의 우리가 나아가야 할 제조업 공장의 모습을 확인할 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며 “향후 우리 시도 스마트공장의 고도화와 인프라 확충, 전문 인력양성을 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
