고양시가 삼송동 일대 주차난을 해소하기 위해 유휴부지인 (구)삼송초등학교부지를 무상 임대받아 주민의 주차공간으로 재탄생시킬 계획이다.

시는 이를 위해 경기도교육청과 25일 협약을 체결한다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약을 통해 고양시는 삼송동 자투리주차장 시설 설치 및 관리역할을 수행하고 경기도교육청은 부지를 무상임대하는 것이 확정된다.
협약은 코로나19 상황을 고려해 비대면 서면 협약으로 진행된다.
자투리주차장이 조성되면 (구)삼송초등학교 부지에 30면의 주차장이 주민에게 무상으로 개방된다.
시는 주차장 조성으로 지역 내 주차 편의가 증진될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
시는 이번 추경에 경기도 도비보조금으로 사업 시행을 위한 시설비를 확보했다.
시는 주차장 개방을 서두르기 위하여 실시설계를 병행하고 있으며 올해 7월 개방을 목표로 공사 추진에 박차를 가하고 있다.
한편 고양시는 작년에도 한국전기공사의 유휴 부지를 무상 임대받아 삼송1통 임시주차장(67면)을 조성했다.
시 관계자는 “앞으로도 유휴부지를 활용한 자투리주차장 조성 및 고양형 공유주차장 등을 확대해 주민의 주차편의를 증진할 것”이라며 “관계기관 및 주민의 많은 관심과 협조를 부탁드린다”고 전했다. 고양=박정호기자
