이동환 국민의힘 고양시장 후보가 경기도ㆍ고양시 공공산후조리원 설립을 공약했다.
이동환 후보는 30일 “저출산 원인의 하나로 지적되고 있는 출산ㆍ육아 문제를 지자체가 일부 책임지는 것이 맞다”면서 “인구 108만 특례시답게 고양시와 경기도에 의존하지 않는 고양특례시민만을 위한 시설도 필요하다”고 밝혔다.

현재 ‘경기도 공공산후조리원 설치 및 운영에 관한 조례’에 의해 경기도 공공산후조리원이 여주에 운영 중에 있고, 포천은 올해 준공을 앞두고 있다.
김은혜 경기지사 후보는 여기에 경기도 동서남북 4대 권역별로 공공산후조리원을 추가 설립하겠다고 공약했다.
이동환 후보는 이에 ‘경기 고양공공산후조리원’ 설립 추진과 함께 별개로 고양시 조례를 제정해 고양시민만 이용할 수 있는 ‘고양 공공산후조리원’ 설립도 추진한다는 계획이다. 이 모두가 진행되면 공공산후조리원 2개가 설립되는 것이다.
현재 민간 산후조리원의 경우, 2주 이용료가 300~400만원 수준으로 신혼부부나 저소득 계층이 이용하기엔 부담이 크다. 공공산후조리원은 첨단시설과 양질의 서비스를 제공하는 반면 이용료는 기존의 50% 수준인 168만원에 맞출 계획이다.
기초생활수급자ㆍ차상위계층ㆍ장애인ㆍ한부모가족 산모 등은 물론 두 자녀 이상 출산 산모의 경우에도 추가 할인 혜택을 부여할 방침이다.
