브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 북한이 미국의 현충일인 메모리얼 데이 전후로 제7차 핵실험을 벌일 가능성이 제기되고 있다.
전쟁에서 사망한 이들을 기리는 미국의 기념일인 메모리얼 데이는 매년 5월 마지막주 월요일로 지정돼 있다.
이에 따라 한미는 공조를 통해 북한의 핵실험 징후를 예의주시하며 감시하고 있다.
김준락 합동참모본부 공보실장은 30일 정례 브리핑에서 '미국의 메모리얼 데이 기간에 핵실험이 이뤄질 수 있다'는 외신 보도와 관련 "합참은 한미 간 긴밀한 공조하에 관련 시설과 지역에 대해 면밀히 추적·감시하고 있고 확고한 대비 태세를 유지하고 있다"고 밝혔다.
