한국디지털문인협회는 5월 26일 오후 3시 강남구에 위치한 비 타임 세미나 홀에서 창립총회를 열고 이사장에 이상우 작가를, 회장에 문학 평론가 김종회 소나기문학마을 이사장을 선출했다.
한국디지털문인협회는 디지털 다매체 환경에서 다양한 형식으로 글을 쓰는 작가들이 서로 소통하고 발표의 기회를 제공하기 위해 창립된 단체다.
이날 총회에는 기존의 문학인과 디지털로 작품을 쓰는 작가를 중심으로 준비위원 150여명이 모여 18개 분과위원회를 구성했다. 이날 발표한 정관에는 핸드폰 등 주로 디지털을 이용해 작품 활동을 하는 사람들이면 누구나 회원이 될 수 있다.
이날 전규리 감성이미지 연구소 대표의 사회로 진행된 가운데 식전 행사로 축시 낭송(시: 한상림, 낭송: 엄경숙)이 시작되었다.

1부 행사로 정선모 부회장의 경과보고, 이상우 이사장 축사, 김종회 회장의 대회사, 가재산 부회장의 협회 활동계획 및 산하기관 활동 설명과 정관 및 임원 인준 등으로 진행됐다.
이상우 이사장은 "이제는 펜과 붓으로 원고지에 작품을 써서 책으로 인쇄하여 독자에게 전달하는 시대를 앞질러 컴퓨터의 자판으로 소설을 써서 누구나 볼 수 있게 발표하는 획기적인 창작시대, 즉 '통신문학', 'PC문학' 또는 '컴퓨터 문학'이 시작된 것"이라고 말하고 "'통신문학' 시대가 도래하면서 기존의 문턱이었던 문학지 추천이나 신춘문예 같은 문턱 높은 등단 제도도 없어져 마침내 '나도 작가'라는 창작 전문 사이트도 등장했다"고 했다.
그는 이어 "포털 시대는 이제 핸드폰 시대로 바뀌어 가고 있다" 며 "핸드폰 하나면 누구나 글도 쓰고 그림도 그리고 예술 사진도 찍고, 발표할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 출판도 할 수 있다"고 말하고 "누구나 핸드폰 하나로 자유롭게 창작 전문가로 변신할 수 있으며 사업자도 될 수 있다" 면서 "회원 자격이 따로 없다. 핸드폰 하나로 예술 활동에 참여할 의지만 있으면 누구든지 '한국디지털 문인협회' 회원이 될 수 있고 작가가 될 수 있고 협회는 자유롭고 보다 광활한 무대로 회원들을 뒷받침할 것"이라고 말하고 "우리는 핸드폰 하나로 문학을 하고, 우리는 손가락으로 우주를 만든다"고 강조했다.
김종회 회장은 대회사를 통해 "'디지털'은 정보를 숫자로 변환하여 데이터로 다루는 방식을 말하며, 이는 '불연속적인 값'으로 표현되며, 과거의 '아날로그'에 대응하여 과학기술과 정보통신의 발전을 반영하는 새로운 문명의 형식으로 중요한 것은 인간의 정신영역을 표현하는 문학의 현장에도 이러한 새 물결이 하나의 파고(波高)를 이루고 있다는 사실" 이라고 말하고 "이처럼 과거에 없었던 변화에 부응하여 기존의 문학적 울타리를 과감하게 무너뜨리고 '새 술은 새 부대에'라는 심기일전의 각오로, 오늘 한국디지털문인협회가 창립되기에 이르렀다"고 했다.
그는 이어 "우리 협회는 '디지털로 발표되는 모든 창작물의 발전 및 교류를 통하여 디지털 문학 중흥에 기여함'을 목적으로 한다"고 말하고 "협회의 활동 범주는 '디지털로 표현되는 모든 장르의 문학작품 등 창작적 기록물을 제작하는 업무에 종사하는 자와 연관 단체를 포함'하도록 되어 있고. 지금껏 볼 수 없었던 '미개척의 서부'를 구현하고자 하는 문학 행동"이라고 했다.
2부는 미니 특강 및 합동 출판 기념회 시간으로 오태동 미래학자의 '출판문화의 미래', 손수호 인덕대 교수의 '디지털 문학의 저작권'에 대한 특강에 이어 디지털책쓰기 분과 김영희 위원장 소개로 20명 작가의 합동 출판 기념회를 가졌다.
또 이날 안만호 누리나래선교회(미얀마 청소년을 돕는 빛과 나눔 장학회)는 슈페리어재단에서 선교단체 대상(상금 3천만원)수상을 협회 창립과 함께 재 수상식이 이뤄졌다.
한편 이날 창립총회를 연 한국디지털문인협회는 디지털책쓰기코칭협회 가재산 회장을 비롯한 전문 코칭 작가 30여 명과 10여개 출판사 대표들이 모여 주도적으로 이뤄낸 성과다.
이번 합동 출판기념회 20개 작품도 이들이 저자 발굴에서 출판 기획 발간(작가와 협의), 책자 컨텐즈 구성 및 작업(전문가의 코칭), 스마트워킹 공동작업(출판사, 코치, 디자이너) 등을 통해 스마트폰과 PC활용으로 비대면 작업을 통해 책자가 출간하게 된 것이다.
가재산 디지털책쓰기코칭협회장은 "앞으로 1천만이 넘는 시니어들의 1인1책 갖기 새마을 운동을 벌일 계획"이며 " 컴맹, 폰맹이라도 책 쓰기가 가능하고 책 쓰기에 완전 초보라도 협회 소속의 출판사와 작가들의 코칭으로 누구나 도전할 수 있는 서비스를 하고 있다"고 말했다.
