올해로 제8회를 맞이하는 웹전문 국제페스티벌 서울웹페스트(Seoul Webfest)가 오는 8월 18일부터 20일까지 구로 롯데시티호텔 엘 컨벤션에서 열린다. 이번 축제에는 해외 28개국 151편, 국내 40편 등 총191편의 공식선정작품들이 참여하며, 서울웹페스트 사무국은 6월 3일 총191편의 수상후보작을 발표했다.
올해 해외 수상후보작들 중 특징은 미국, 싱가포르, 일본, 브라질 작가들의 작품이 많아졌다는 것이다. 수상후보작 중 시선을 끄는 한국 작품들을 보면, 대부분 브랜디드 웹드라마가 강세이다. 그리고 수상후보 배우들을 보면 K-pop스타 아이돌의 출연이 많아졌다는 것이다.
