고양가와지볍씨박물관(관장 이도연)은 대화동 통장협의회 회원 12명을 대상으로 ‘고양 가와지볍씨 역사와 함께하는 농업 체험교육’을 실시했다고 17일 전했다.
이번 체험교육은 1991년 일산신도시 개발 당시 고양 가와지볍씨 출토지인 대화동에 거주하는 주민의 우리 고장에 대한 역사적 정체성 확립을 돕기 위해 실시됐다.

교육에 참가한 회원들은 박물관 전시실을 관람하면서 학예사의 해설을 통해 고양 가와지볍씨가 발굴된 역사적 과정을 이해하고 5020년 전 한반도 최초의 재배벼인 고양 가와지볍씨 진본 유물을 관찰했다.
전시 관람 후에는 가와지볍씨 모양의 도자기 화분에 화훼도시 고양에 맞게 다육식물을 심어보는 시간을 가졌다.
참가자는 “한반도 벼농사의 기원이 되는 고양 가와지볍씨의 역사적 의미와 가치를 이해하고 역사와 연계한 원예 체험활동으로 마음까지 치유하는 소중한 시간이었다”고 말했다.
박물관 관계자는 “앞으로도 농업과 관련된 전시, 교육 등 다양한 컨텐츠로 지역민과 소통할 계획”이라고 말했다. 고양=박정호기자
