이번에 방류하는 감성돔은 수산자원연구소에서 지난 2월부터 4개월 이상 사육해 평균 6cm 이상 키운 것으로 통영수협과 통영시 해양관광레저선외기낚시사업조합, 인근 어업인들이 방류에 공동 참여했다.
