고양시가 자매결연도시인 미국 하와이주 마우이카운티와의 우호·협력 관계를 강화하고 학생들의 글로벌 역량을 증진시키기 위해 2022년 고양-마우이 On(溫) Friends’(이하 온프렌즈) 국제 교류 2차 프로그램을 실시했다.
온프렌즈 교류 1차 프로그램은 지난 6일 진행됐다.

1차에서는 마우이 볼드윈고등학교 교장, 교감, 담당교사와 학생 16명, 고양국제고등학교 교장, 국제교육부장, 담당교사와 학생 22명이 온라인으로 만나 인사를 나눴다.

13일 2차 프로그램도 온라인으로 진행됐다.
이날 마우이 볼드윈고등학교와 고양국제고등학교 학생 38명이 담당교사들의 지도 아래 토론을 진행했다.
학생들은 UN에서 채택한 17개 지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 중 ①기후변화 대응 ②성평등 ③양질의 교육 ④지속가능 에너지 공급이라는 주제별로 그룹을 나눠 토론했다.
양교 학생들은 주제에 맞는 문제점과 해결방안, 실행 계획 등을 논의하고 7월 20일에 있을 비대면 포럼발표를 준비했다.
