[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 남강댐(진양호) 상류 지역의 수질오염물질 배출원에 대해 18일부터 29일까지 2주간 특별점검을 실시한다.
이번 점검은 현재 기상 상황(마른장마 등) 유지 시 남강댐에 녹조 발생이 심화될 것으로 우려되고 있어 이에 대한 선제 조치를 위한 점검으로 남강댐 상류 5개 시·군(진주시, 사천시, 하동군, 산청군, 함양군)과 합동으로 집중점검 할 계획이다.
이에 도는 남강댐 상류지역에 위치한 개인오수처리시설과 폐수·가축분뇨배출시설의 적정 운영 여부, 비점오염 저감시설 유지?관리 실태, 하천구간 쓰레기 방치 및 야적퇴비 적정 보관 여부 등에 대한 점검을 실시한다.
점검결과 비정상 운영 등 중대 위반사항이 적발될 경우 관련법에 따라 강력 조치할 예정이다.
현재 남강댐 물을 수돗물로 공급하는 정수장 3개소(취수장 2개소)에서는 원수와 수돗물에 대한 조류독소와 맛·냄새물질을 주 1회 측정하고 있으며, 조류경보 발령시 측정주기를 단축하고 염소 접촉 시간 확대와 분말활성탄 투입 등 정수처리를 강화할 예정이다.
