최민호 세종시장이 15일 출근길 시민불편 해소를 위해 대평동 고속시외버스 터미널을 찾았다.
최 시장은 이날 출근시간대인 오전 8시 20분 고속시외버스터미널을 방문, 임시주차장 등 시민불편 사항을 꼼꼼히 점검하고, 출근길 시민과 인사를 나눴다.
현장에서 최 시장은 “고속시외버스터미널은 우리 시 관문 역할을 담당하는 시설인 만큼 불편 사항이 없도록 하고, 시민의 발인 대중 교통이 활성화 되어야 한다”라며 관련 대책 마련을 주문했다.
이날 현장 점검에는 김동빈 시의원(대평·금남·부강)도 동행해 터미널 관리사항, 주변 경관 등에 관심을 보이면서 시민불편 해소에 노력해 줄 것을 당부했다.
시는 터미널 임시주차장에 우천 시 물이 고이거나 비포장으로 요철이 심해 이용불편사항을 해소하고자 2억 원을 투입해 주차장 포장(240면)을 완료하고 이날 전면 개방했다.
시는 이번 주차장 정비로 도시미관 향상은 물론, 당초 보다 60면의 주차면을 추가 확보하면서 시민들의 이용편의성이 높아질 것으로 기대된다.
또 이날부터 내부순환 간선급행버스(BRT) B5노선이 조정·운행을 시작하면서 고속시외버스터미널, 시청, 도담동, 국책연구단지 등에서 교통안전 캠페인을 실시하며 시민들에게 노선변경 안내 및 안전한 버스탑승을 안내했다.
