[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도의회 경제환경위원회는 25일 합천 광역취수장 건립예정지, 창녕 강변여과수 개발예정지를 방문하는 등 제12대 전반기 첫 번째 의정활동을 시작했다.
이번 현지 활동은 ‘낙동강 유역 안전한 먹는 물 공급체계 구축사업’이 예비타당성 조사 통과에 따른 도의회 차원의 대응대책을 마련하기 위해 추진됐다.
이 사업은 합천 황강 복류수와 창녕 강변 여과수를 개발해 부산과 동부 경남에 일평균 90만 톤을 공급할 취수시설과 관로 102.2km를 건설한다는 내용이다.
하지만, 사업 예정지 지역 주민들은 직접적인 피해인 농업용수 부족과 수계 상류지역에 대한 감시강화와 개발행위 제한이 우려됨에도 환경부에서는 문제해결을 위한 소통조차 하지 않아 강력 반발하고 있다.
