[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원특례시(시장 홍남표)는 창원시립소년소녀합창단이 지난 20일부터 제주 서귀포 예술의 전당에서 열린 제4회 세계 청소년 합창 경연대회에서 금메달을 수상했다고 27일 밝혔다.
세계청소년합창축제&경연대회는 국내·외 어린이, 청소년 합창단들이 합창을 통한 문화교류를 도모하기 위해 매년 개최되고 있으며, 올해는 위드 코로나의 시기를 맞아 세계가 함께 어려움을 합창으로 극복하자는 의미를 담은 ‘WITH YOU(위드유)’라는 주제로 기획됐다.
이번 경연대회에는 22개 팀이 참여해 청소년 합창 음악의 저변 확대를 도모하고 각기 다른 색깔의 합창단이 하나가 되어 성황리에 대회를 마무리했다.
창원시립소년소녀합창단은 일반 부문에서 조혜영 작곡의 ‘너와 나’, 그리고 이진실 작곡의 ‘두껍이’를 불러 영예의 금메달을 수상했다. 종교 부문에 Lux Aeterna와 Swingin’with the saints, 민속 부문에는 ‘도라지꽃’과 ‘꽃타령’을 불러 각각 은메달을 수상하며 창원특례시 문화사절단으로서의 역량을 세계에 널리 전파했다.

홍남표 창원특례시장은 “시립소년소녀합창단은 창원특례시의 대표적인 문화사절단이며, 1991년 창단 이래 매년 정기·기획공연을 통해 다양한 무대를 선보이고 있다”며 “앞으로 청소년들을 위한 문화공연의 장을 늘려갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
