[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 재단법인 경남한방항노화연구원(원장 이향래)은 산청군양잠농업협동조합과 공동연구개발한 “누에를 이용한 당뇨 개선을 위한 조성물”을 특허 등록했다고 28일 밝혔다.
“누에를 이용한 당뇨 개선을 위한 조성물”은 경남 지역의 누에 농가 축소와 가격 상승으로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 항노화 관련 기업의 애로점을 해결하기 위해 누에보다 비교적 가격이 저렴한 돼지감자, 여주를 함께 활용하여 누에와 비슷한 당뇨 개선 효능을 가지는 조성물을 개발하여 누에 제품의 공급 단가를 낮추는 목적으로 개발됐다.
해당 개발 소재를 활용하면 기존 누에의 대체가 가능하여 가격은 낮추고 효능은 동일한 제품개발이 가능해진다.
이번 특허 등록은 연구원이 2018년도부터 추진한 항노화 기업 애로기술 지원사업을 통한 연구 성과이다.
항노화 기업 애로기술 지원사업은 경남의 항노화 기업을 대상으로 연구개발 관련 애로점을 파악하고 해결하여 기업의 성장을 돕는 지원사업이다.
이향래 원장은 “이번 연구개발을 통해 누에 활용의 애로점을 해결하고 가격 경쟁력이 높은 제품개발이 가능함을 확인했다”라며, “지속적으로 경남 항노화 기업의 애로점을 해결하여 항노화산업 발전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
