고양시가 지난 29일 고양시청 회의실에서 화학사고 예방과 신속한 대처를 위해 고양시 화학안전관리위원회 정기회의를 개최했다.
이날 회의는 고양시의 향후 5년간의 화학물질 안전관리를 위한 단계별·연도별 목표를 설정하기 위해 실시됐다.

이날 위원들은 체계적인 「화학물질 안전관리 시행계획」과 「지역화학사고 비상대응계획」을 수립하기 위해 심의를 진행했다.
시 관계자는 “화학사고는 한 번 발생하면 피해가 심각하기 때문에 무엇보다도 예방이 중요하다. 고양시에 최적화된 실효성이 있는 안전관리계획을 수립하여 화학사고 걱정 없는 고양시를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 고양시 화학안전관리위원회는 화학물질안전관리 시행계획 및 지역화학사고 비상대응계획 수립을 완료한 후 화학물질 취급시설 사업장에 대한 교육 방안을 마련하고 화학사고 발생 시 행동요령 홍보를 추진할 예정이다. 고양=박정호기자
