[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 기술창업 전주기 지원 체계 구축의 일환으로 창원시 창업지원센터에서 운영하고 있는 ‘창창 기술(방산)창업아카데미’ 참여업체인 ㈜트윈위즈(대표 김창수)가 TIPS(팁스) 프로그램 창업팀으로 선정됐다고 8일 밝혔다.
창원특례시와 창원산업진흥원은 ㈜트윈위즈의 기술 혁신성을 높이 보고 창업교육 및 투자유치 멘토링, TIPS 프로그램 컨설팅 지원사업, CES2023 참가기업 지원 사업 등을 지원하고 있다.
TIPS는 획기적인 기술을 가진 창업팀을 민간주도로 선발해 집중 육성하는 ‘민간투자주도형 기술창업지원’ 프로그램이다.
TIPS에 선정되면 연구개발 자금과 사업화 자금 지원, TIPS 운영사의 보육?후속투자 유치 등 종합적인 밀착 창업지원을 제공받을 수 있어 스타트업 정부지원사업 중 창업지원의 꽃이라 불리는 사업이다.
㈜트윈위즈는 올해 3월 한국재료연구원에서 기능성 항균·항바이러스 첨가제를 개발해 창업한 연구소기업으로 6월 국내 투자사(AC)로부터 2억원 투자유치를 이끌어내 세계시장을 선도할 스타트업임을 입증했다.
이어 중소벤처기업부에서 주관하는 TIPS 프로그램 창업팀에 7월 선정됨으로써 R&D 자금과 투자자금 등 2년간 최대 7억원 자금을 지원받아 미래 유망 글로벌 스타트업으로 성장할 수 있는 발판을 마련하게 됐다.
