거창군, 하반기 외국인 계절근로자 입국

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 하반기 외국인 계절근로자 프로그램을 통해 배정받은 183명의 근로자 중 15명이 8일 1차 입국해 8개 농가에 배치됐다고 8일 밝혔다.

계절근로자 프로그램은 농번기 인력난 해소를 위해 3～5개월 동안 외국인 근로자를 합법적으로 고용 할 수 있는 제도로, 코로나19와 농촌 고령화로 극심한 일손부족을 겪고 있는 거창군 농가에 도움이 될 것으로 기대 된다.

거창군은 필리핀 푸라시와 업무 협약을 통해 하반기 183명의 계절근로자를 확보했으며, 비자심사가 완료되는 대로 농가에 순차적으로 배치해 인력난 해소와 적기 영농을 지원할 계획이다.

이번에 입국한 하반기 계절근로자 15명은 앞으로 5개월간 지역 과수, 시설원예 농가 등에 고용되어 농작업 현장에 투입 될 예정이다.

구인모 거창군수는 “상반기에도 외국인 계절근로자 도입으로 농가에 많은 도움이 되었는데 하반기에도 일손이 부족한 농가에 단비 같은 역할이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 농가 일손 부족을 위한 다양한 인력확보 방안을 모색 하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 거창군에서는 상반기에 15농가에 총49명의 외국인 계절근로자를 배치했었다.
