고양시가 지난 10일 고양시청에서 ‘고양시가구협동조합 성금 전달식’을 가졌다.
이번 성금 전달은 2022 고양가구박람회 개최 지역환원사업의 일환으로 이루어졌다.
이번에 기탁된 성금 2천만원은 고양시가구협동조합에서 2022 고양가구박람회 참가업체들의 자체부담금 일부를 모아서 마련한 것으로 고양시사회복지협의회를 통해 관내 취약계층에게 전달할 예정이다.

지역 가구산업 발전을 위해 2013년 4월 설립된 고양시가구협동조합은 마스크 공급이 원활하지 않았던 2020년에 마스크 32,500매를 기부하여 관내 전통시장 및 상점가에 지원하는 등 지역사회 공헌 활동을 지속해 오고 있다.
고양시가구협동조합 정세환 이사장은 “코로나19 등으로 가구업계가 많은 어려움을 겪고 있지만 힘든 상황에서도 2022 고양가구박람회를 잘 개최하고 참가업체들이 십시일반 모은 성금으로 주변 어려운 이웃을 위해 기부할 수 있게 되어 기쁘게 생각한다”고 전했다.
이동환 고양특례시장은 “가구산업은 고양시 경제를 떠받쳐 온 오랜 특화산업으로 우리 곁을 늘 든든하게 지켜왔다”며“고양가구박람회의 성공적 개최와 함께 나눔 활동에서 앞장 서 주셔서 진심으로 감사드린다”고 밝혔다.
