파주시는 오는 18일 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부와 함께 화물차 판스프링 불법 설치에 대한 합동 단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.
최근 화물차 적재함에 설치한 판스프링이 낙하해 뒤따라오던 차량의 앞 유리를 덮치는 사고가 발생하는 등 시민의 불안이 가중됐다.

이에 시는 적재함에 판스프링을 설치한 화물차, 판스프링 불법 설치 행위, 화물차 난간대 불법 구조 변경, 미인증 등화장치 임의 설치(안전기준 위반) 등을 단속할 계획이다.
적발된 차량은 관련 법규에 따라 과태료 부과, 임시검사 및 원상복구 명령 등의 행정처분을 통보하고, 중대한 불법행위에 대해서는 형사고발 조치할 계획이다.
파주시 관계자는 “이번 합동단속을 통해 교통안전을 위협하는 불법 운행 차량 소유자의 경각심을 제고해 시민의 교통안전을 위한 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.파주=박정호기자
