브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 18일 故(고) 김대중 전 대통령 서거 13기 추도식이 국립현충원에서 엄수됐다.
김진표 국회의장을 비롯한 여야 지도부는 이날 오전 서울 동작구 국립서울현충원 현충관에서 진행된 김 전 대통령 서거 13주기 추도식에 참석해 한목소리로 '김대중 정신'을 언급하며 고인을 기렸다.

김진표 국회의장은 추도사를 통해 "대통령님 가신 날이 어제 같은데, 벌써 13년이 지났다"며 "세월이 흐르면 무뎌지는 것이 사람의 마음인데, 대통령님을 향한 그리움은 자꾸 커져만 간다"고 운을 뗐다.
이어 "다섯 번의 죽을 고비와 사형선고. 짐작조차 어려운 그 고난의 가시밭을 당신은 홀로 걸었다"면서 "지혜와 용기, 화해와 용서. 김대중식 정치가 있었기에 대한민국은 비로소 민주주의를 말할 자격을 얻었다"고 강조했다.
그는 코로나 확산으로 인한 글로벌 경제 위기가 민생을 위협하고 있다고 언급하며 "외환위기를 이겨낸 그 날처럼 국민의 마음을 다시 하나로 모아내야 한다"고 강조했다.
또한 정치권을 향해서도 "혐오의 정치, 남 탓하는 정치가 기승을 부리고 있다"면서 "목숨을 노리던 적까지 용서하던 정치, 김대중식 국민 통합의 정치로 돌아가야 한다"고 했다.

주호영 국민의힘 비상대책위원장은 "저는 김대중 전 대통령과 다른 정치적 환경과 배경에서 성장했지만 대통령님을 생각하면 늘 4가지 큰 업적과 배워야 할 일이 떠오른다"며 "대통령님의 민주주의, 의회주의 신념·업적은 대한민국 헌정사에 길이 남을 것"이라고 추모했다.
그는 "수많은 핍박과 고난을 겪었음에도 정치 보복을 하지 않으시고 화해, 용서로 국민을 하나 만드셨다. 정권 교체가 잦은 요즘 집권하시는 분들이 배워야 할 가장 큰 덕목"이라며 "저희도 김대중 정신을 배우고 이행하며, 지키는 데 노력하겠다. 업적을 기리며 추모하고, 명복을 기원한다"고 했다.

우상호 더불어민주당 비상대책위원장은 "지금도 대통령님의 마지막 모습이 기억난다"며 "노무현 전 대통령의 영결식에 오셔서 대성통곡하시면서 '민주주의, 서민 경제, 한반도 평화 위기가 다가오고 있다. 이에 철저히 투쟁해야 한다'고 하신, 마지막 유언 같은 말씀이 생생하다"고 회고했다.

추도식에는 국회의장과 여야 지도부 외에도 이진복 대통령비서실 정무수석, 권노갑 김대중기념사업회 이사장, 한광옥 전 대통령 비서실장, 심상정 전 정의당 대표 등 주요 정치인사들도 참석했다.
