김해시, “일본군 위안부 피해자 기림의 날” 행사

[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 김해평화의소녀상기념회는 지난 21일 김해연지공원 조각공원에서 일본군 위안부 피해자 기림의 날(8월 14일)을 기념한 시민평화문화제를 개최했다.

일본군 위안부 피해자 기림의 날은 1991년 8월 14일 고(故) 김학순 할머니가 위안부 피해 사실을 처음으로 공개 증언한 역사적인 날을 기념해 지정한 날이다.

김해연지공원에 세워진 ‘평화의 소녀상’은 김해지역 106개 시민사회단체, 평화나비회원(시민), 일반시민 모금으로 2018년도에 건립된 것으로 일본군 위안부 피해자들의 인권과 명예 회복뿐만 아니라 한반도와 국제사회의 평화를 염원하는 김해시민들의 평화 의지를 담고 있다.

이날 행사는 홍태용 김해시장을 비롯한 김해시민 100여명이 참석한 가운데 1부 ‘다시 만나는 평화’, 2부 ‘행동하는 평화’를 주제로 지역예술단체의 다양한 문화공연으로 진행되었으며 참여 단체들의 ‘함께 평화’ 체험부스 운영과 함께 ‘김해시민이 바라는 평화’에 대한 시민 현장 발언 시간도 가졌다.
