시는 이를 위해 15개소를 목표로 관내 법인·단체 또는 개인이 조성해 운영하는 정원을 오는 29일부터 9월 8일까지 신청 받아 우수 개인정원으로 지정하고 정원 홍보와 관리를 지원한다.
우수 개인정원 신청 자격은 진주시 소재 법인·단체 소유 정원 100㎡ 이상, 개인 소유 정원 30㎡ 이상의 면적에 관광자원으로 가치가 있고 시가 지정하는 기간에 개방 가능한 정원이어야 한다.
시는 서류심사 및 현장심사를 거쳐 오는 9월 말에 최종 결과를 통지하고, 최종 우수 개인정원으로 선정된 15개소에는 정원관리를 위한 재료를 일부 지원, 시 개인정원 등록증을 발급과 등록명패를 제공한다.
