김선욱 시인(장흥투데이 편집인) ‘장흥담론 1-2권’ 출간

김선욱 시인-장흥투데이 편집인의 시사칼럼집 "장흥 담론(談論)-그 향(香), 여전히 향이다"(1-2권, 각권 450쪽, 에코미디어)이 출간됐다.

 

김선욱 시인은 지난 30여년 간 <장흥신문>, <장흥투데이>에 발표한 250여 쪽의 사설‧컬럼(제1권=121족, 제2권=126쪽)을 모아 주제별로 정리,  1-2권의 책으로 묶어 출간했다. 1권은 비전‧정치‧관광‧환경‧문화‧문학 분문 주제의 글들을 모았다. 2권은 역사‧역사인물‧경제‧ 사회‧행정(1,2)‧종합 등으로 분류해 묶었다.

 

김선욱 시인의 《장흥 담론…》은 장흥군의 최근 현대사 30년을 관통하는 인문사회학서, 또는 장흥군에서 정론(正論)의 언론인으로서 유일하게 장흥사회에 대한 비판과 대안을 제시한 작품으로 평가 받고 있다.

 

이영권 전 국회의원(3선 의원)은 “20, 30년 장흥군의 역사·문화·행정 등이 담긴 이 《장흥 담론…》이야말로 장흥군의 모든 공직자는 물론 지방 정치를 희망하는 자 그리고 장흥의 미래를 걱정하는 장흥 군민 모두가 읽어야 할 필독서”라고 강조했다.

 

백수인 명예교수(문학박사, 조선대학교, 시인)는 “《장흥 담론…》은 장흥사회에서 두고두고 회자 될 만한, 한 마디로 지역(장흥)에 따뜻한 비판과 차가운 사랑이 담긴 지역 언론인으로서 30년 성찰적인 기록을 담은 감동적인 책”이라고 평가했다.

 

시인이요 문학평론가인 강경호(문학박사)는 “필자는 오랫동안 고향에서 장흥의 소식을 전하는 언론인으로서 뿐만 아니라 시인으로 문학(문화)을 이끌어가는 지성이다. 그동안 그가 주관하는 언론에 장흥의 비전을 제시하고, 정치·관광·환경·문화·문학·역사·인물·경제·사회·행정 등 장흥에 관한한 언론인으로서의 탁월한 예지력과 예언자적인 시인의 혜안으로, 장흥의 구석구석을 세세히 관조하는 능력을 보여주었다. 때로는 장흥의 빛나는 자랑거리를, 때로는 가감 없는 예리한 비판을 서슴치 않고 대안을 제시한, 이번에 펴낸 《장흥 담론…》(1·2)의 노작들은 장흥을 운영하는 분들 뿐만 아니라 자신의 고향을 사랑하는 사람들이라면 누구나 통독해야 하는, 장흥의 과거와 현재를 살펴보고 미래를 설계하는데 필수과목이다. 어느 고장에 이만한 담론집이 있다는 말 들어본 적이 없다. 그러므로 ‘장흥에는 김선욱 선생이 있어 다행스럽다.’”고 평가했다.

 

김선욱 시인의 저서 《장흥 담론…》 출판기념식은 9월 1일(목) 오후 3시 장흥군민회관 2층에서 개최된다. 

 

이 책의 저자인 김선욱 시인은 1992년 장흥신문 창간 주역. 서울 주재 장흥신문 편집장으로 1997년까지 장흥신문 편집을 주관했다. 지난 1997년 12월 장흥신문을 인수하여 2001년까지 장흥신문 대표를 역임했다. 지난 2003년부터는 ㈜장흥신문 대표 및 편집인으로 2017년까지 역임했다. 지난 2018년부터 ㈜장흥투데이 창간과 대표 등을 거쳐 2021년부터 장흥투데이 편집인으로 활동해 오고 있다. 김선욱 시인은 1998년 소설가로, 2008년 시인으로 데뷔 했다. 

 

김선욱 시인은 시집으로 《강은 그리움으로 흐른다》 《지는 꽃이 아름답다》 《꽃자리》 《등너머 사랑》 등 6권의 시집과 기행산문집 《시베리아 횡단 열차는 달린다》, 에세이집《참사랑》, 대담집《스님, 사는 게 뭡니까》를 펴냈다.
