[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 하수도사업소는 국제표준 환경경영시스템(ISO 14001) 인증을 6회 연속 갱신 취득했다.

지난 16일부터 17일까지 이틀간 한국인증원으로부터 재인증 심사를 거쳐 국제표준규격에 의한 환경경영시스템의 프로세스 등 기준에 적합하게 경영업무를 수행하고 있음을 인증받았다.

하수도사업소는 환경경영시스템 도입 원년인 2004년 10월 최초 인증을 획득한 이후 매 3년마다 갱신심사를 받아 왔으며, 올해로 18년간 국제표준 인증을 유지하고 있다.

하수도사업소에서 환경경영시스템 인증을 지속적으로 유지·관리하는 것은 기존 마산, 창원지역에서 발생된 생활하수, 분뇨, 가축분뇨를 처리하는 덕동물재생센터를 비롯한 각 처리센터의 방류수 수질 및 시설물 운영 등 환경과 관련한 표준요건 적합성과 지속적인 환경 성과 개선 등 하수처리 운영이 국제 기준에 적합하다는 것을 의미한다.
