[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남선관위는 추석을 맞아 정치인 등이 추석인사 명목으로 선거구민에게 금품을 제공하는 등 불법행위가 발생할 우려가 있다고 보고 특별예방·단속활동에 돌입한다고 31일 밝혔다.
경남선관위는 국회의원, 지방의회의원, 지방자치단체장, 입후보예정자 및 관련 기관·단체 등이 법을 몰라 위반하는 일이 없도록 관련 법규 및 주요 위반사례를 적극 안내하되, 사전 안내에도 불구하고 위법행위가 발생하는 경우에는 고발 등 엄중하게 조치할 방침이다.
금품이나 음식물 등을 제공받은 사람에게는 최고 3천만 원의 범위에서 50배 이하의 과태료를 부과하되, 자수한 사람에게는 사안에 따라 과태료를 감면해주고 위법행위 신고자에게는 최고 5억 원의 포상금을 지급한다.
지난 명절에 선거법을 위반해 조치 된 주요 사례로는 ▲입후보예정자가 선거구민 290여 명에게 김 세트(총 277만원)를 제공한 사례(과태료 2천 457만원) ▲입후보 예정자가 선거구민 7명에게 주류, 생활용품 세트(총 39만원)를 제공한 사례 (과태료 282만원) ▲지방의회의원이 선거구민 등 78명에게 한라봉 84박스(총 168만원)를 제공한 사례(과태료 1천 680만원) ▲지방자치단체장이 예산으로 사과(46만원)를 구입한 후 선거구민 등에게 8회에 걸쳐 지역 특산품 홍보 명목으로 제공한 사례 등이 있다.
