브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 1일 검찰이 이재명 더불어민주당 대표에게 소환 조사를 통보한 것으로 확인됐다.
이날 민주당 및 법조계에 따르면 서울중앙지검 공공수사2부(부장검사 김경근)는 이날 경기도 성남시 대장동·백현동 개발사업 관련 허위사실을 공표한 혐의와 관련, 이재명 대표에게 출석요구서를 보냈다.
이재명 대표에 대한 소환 일정은 오는 6일 오전 10시로 잡혔다.
이재명 대표는 지난해 10월 20일 국회 국토교통위원회의 경기도 대상 국정감사에서 백현동 한국식품연구원 부지 용도변경 관련 허위사실을 공표한 혐의를 받고 있다.
이에 대해 민주당은 "도저히 납득하기 어려운 소환 요구"라며 "야당 탄압"이라고 맹비판했다.
박성준 민주당 대변인은 이날 국회 소통관에서 가진 브리핑에서 "검찰은 이재명 대표의 지난해 국정감사 발언과 언론 인터뷰에서 허위사실을 발언했다고 주장하고 있다"며 "그러나 박근혜 정부 당시 백현동 식품연구원 등 공기업 이전부지 용도변경을 두고 '국토부가 중앙정부의 말을 듣지 않으면 직무유기에 해당된다는 얘기까지 하며 성남시 공무원들을 압박했다'는 말이 나돌았다고 한 취재기자의 증언이 공개되며 이 대표의 발언은 사실로 확인됐다"고 반박했다.
이어 "심지어 당시 성남시의회 새누리당이 당론으로 대장동 공영개발을 막았다는 명백한 증거들이 넘치며 이 대표 발언의 진실성을 입증하고 있다"며 "검찰은 명백한 증거를 일부러 무시하고 짜맞춘 각본에 따라 수사하는 것"이라고 비판했다.
박 대변인은 또한 "윤석열 대통령의 부인인 김건희 여사와 관련한 사건들, 국민의힘 의원들에 대한 고발사건은 줄줄이 무혐의 처분하면서 야당 대표의 정치적 발언은 사법적 판단에 넘기겠다니 황당하다"며 "김건희 여사가 권력을 잡으면 경찰이 알아서 할 것이라더니, 경찰은 물론 검찰까지 나서서 야당 탄압을 자행하고 있다"고 주장했다.
그러면서 "윤석열 대통령과 경쟁했던 대선후보이자 제1야당 대표에 대한 정치보복, 야당을 와해하려는 정치 탄압에 대해 물러설 수 없다. 민주당은 민주주의를 훼손하려는 윤석열 검찰공화국의 정치 보복에 강력하게 맞서 싸울 것"이라고 했다.
