김태흠 충남도지사가 당진시를 대중국 수출 전진기지로 육성하고, 공주시는 역사와 문화, 현대가 살아 숨 쉬는 명품 관광도시로 탈바꿈시키겠다고 밝혔다.
김 지사는 1일 민선 8기 시군 방문 10번째와 11번째 방문지인 당진시와 공주시를 찾아 이 같은 미래 청사진을 제시했다.
먼저, 당진시에서는 오성환 시장이 건의한 산업부의 ‘블루수소 클러스터’ 예비타당성조사 대상 선정과 ‘수소특화단지’ 지정에 대해 적극 공조키로 했다.
블루수소 클러스터 지정 관련, 김 지사는 “산업부는 내년초 1차 클러스터 인천, 울산 등 5곳에 대한 예타 조사 완료 후 추가지정을 검토 예정”이라며, “도는 관련 전담팀(TF) 구성 및 내년 2월까지 사업 기획안 수립을 통해 추가 지정에 적극 대응할 것”이라고 말했다.
수소특화단지 조성에 대해서는 “당진시는 액화천연가스(LNG) 인수기지가 다수 입지해 블루수소 산업 생태계 조성에 최적인 상황으로, 수소산업 인프라 구축 등 최선을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
당진시청 당진홀에서 시민 등 600여 명과 함께한 시민과의 대화에서는 베이밸리 메가시티 건설을 언급하며, 당진평택국제항의 물류환경 개선과 대중국 수출 전진기지 육성을 제시했다.
구체적으로는 지역 내 증가하는 항만 물동량 처리를 위한 부두 확충(양곡, 잡화 등), 정부 탄소중립 정책산업 선도를 위한 수소·암모니아 부두 조성, 항만물류와 해양관광 공존을 위한 항만친수시설 조성 등이다.
도는 해양수산부 당진평택항 종합발전계획 수립용역에 이 같은 내용이 반영될 수 있도록 올해 안에 김 지사와 해수부장관의 면담을 추진한다.

주민들이 건의한 △충남교육청 교육휴양시설 진입도로(리도 203호선) 확포장 △산업단지 도로(송악읍 부곡리 1695 일원) 아스콘 덧씌우기 및 차선도색 △순성 도시계획도호 중로3-807호선, 소로3-904호선 개설 등은 검토 후 지원방안을 모색한다.
공주시를 방문한 자리에서는 최원철 시장과 시민 등 500여 명에게 △백제문화권 관광거점 조성 △제2금강교 건설 △부동산조정지역 해제 등을 추진하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
