‘조상 땅 찾기’ 서비스는 재산관리의 소홀이나 불의의 사고 등으로 재산 상속이 제대로 되지 않은 토지를 찾아 후손들에게 알려 도민들의 재산권 행사에 도움을 주는 적극적인 토지행정 서비스이다.
이 서비스는 1993년 경남도에서 최초로 추진하다가 2001년에 전국으로 확산되었으며, 경남도내에서는 올해 현재 2만 581명이 신청해 8,382명이 3만4,694필지(176,068,193㎡)의 토지를 찾았다.
서비스 이용을 희망하는 경우에는, 법적 상속권이 있는 자가 조상의 사망기록이 등재되어 있는 가족관계증명서와 제적등본을 구비해 전국의 가까운 시군구 지적업무 담당부서나 경남도 토지정보과로 방문하면 신청할 수 있다.
