특히 이 시장은 “고양시는 정부 정책에 따라 여러 곳의 택지개발이 완료되거나 진행 중이며, 정부정책에 협조한 결과는 오히려 도시의 과밀화만 가속되었을 뿐 자족기능을 살릴 수 있는 기업유치는 없는 실정이다.
결국 고양시의 재정자립도가 지속적으로 하락하는 결과를 낳고 있는 것이 지금의 현실”이라고 강조했다.
