이를 위해 파주시는 지난 7월부터 ‘농지성토 규제 강화’ 시정방침을 수립해 농지성토를 강력하게 규제해 왔는데, 앞으로도 이 같은 뜻을 전하며 ▲성토의 높이 ▲배수 상황 ▲폐기물 매립 여부 등을 꼼꼼히 점검해 불법 사항을 적발하겠다고 밝혔다.
김경일 파주시장은 “시민 피해를 최소화하고, 지속 가능한 농업생산 환경 조성과 우량농지 보전을 지키겠다”라며 “불법 농지성토 행위에 대해서는 누구라도 예외 없이 무관용 원칙으로 행정대집행 및 구상권 행사 등 엄정 대응하겠다”고 말했다.
