[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 진주 혁신도시에 고교 신설과 관련 경남교육청이 내년부터 본격적인 기반 조성으로 확실한 추진 의지를 밝혀 혁신도시 내 고교 신설이 가시화될 전망이다.
경남도의회 정재욱 의원(국민의힘, 진주 1)은 13일 제398회 정례회 도정질문에서 진주 혁신도시 고교 신설과 관련 질의에 나섰다.
이에 도교육청은 진주 혁신도시 고교 신설을 적극적으로 추진하겠으며, 특히 내년부터 각 기관별 업무협약 체결 등으로 본격적인 고교 신설 준비에 돌입하겠다고 밝혔다.
도교육청 조영규 행정국장은 “혁신도시 내 고교 신설은 대체 이전을 포함한 다양한 방안을 검토 중에 있으며, 특히 내년부터 고교 신설과 관련한 확실한 기반 조성을 위해 각 유관기관과의 업무협약을 체결해서 가시적인 성과로 말씀드리겠다.”며 혁신도시 내 고교 신설을 공식화했다.

또한 정 의원은 “비록 교육청 당국이 관련 사건을 매뉴얼대로 처리했다고 하지만 추가 피해 학생들의 경찰서 신고가 없었다면 과연 이 문제에 대해 적극적인 조치를 취했을지 의문이 든다.”며 학생 대상 성 관련 문제에 대해 교육청이 더욱 세심한 관심을 표해 줄 것도 아울러 주문했다.
