[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 14일 시청 5층 상황실에서 ‘월아산 국가(지방)정원 마스터플랜 수립 및 타당성 조사 용역 착수보고회’를 가졌다.
이날 보고회에는 조규일 진주시장을 비롯한 관계 부서장과 전문가 등이 참석해 국가(지방)정원 조성방향을 설정하고 세부적인 추진 방안에 대해 논의하는 시간을 가졌다.
용역사인 서울대학교 산학협력단은 월아산의 자연자원을 활용한 숲속정원, 산촌정원, 경관농업정원 등 국가(지방) 정원으로 발전시켜 나가기 위한 체계 수립 및 실현 전략과제 발굴에 대해 보고했다.
조규일 시장은 “월아산 숲속의 진주가 지방정원을 넘어 국가정원으로 성장해 가는 동안 진주 내 숨겨진 정원 자원을 발굴해 대한민국 대표 정원관광명소화에 최선을 다해 달라”고 당부했다.
한편 한국의 지방정원은 양평 세미원, 담양 죽녹원 등 7개소이며, 국가정원은 순천만 국가정원과 태화강 국가정원 2개소로, 현재 전국 26개소가 지방정원 및 국가정원 등록을 추진하고 있다.
