브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당은 16일 윤석열 대통령이 이원석 검찰총장과 한기정 공정거래위원장의 임명을 재가한데 대해 "끝없는 인사 참사에도 한치의 반성 없이 불통 폭주를 이어가겠다는 선언"이라고 비판했다.
윤석열 대통령은 국회에 요청한 청문보고서 1차 송부 기한과 재송부 요청 기간까지 만료되자 임명을 강행했다. 국회의 청문 보고서 채택없이 임명한 건 윤석열 정부 들어 12번째다.
이에 이수진 민주당 원내대변인은 이날 오전 국회 소통관에서 "윤석열 정부의 새로운 국민의 나라에는 검찰과 재벌만 있나"라고 꼬집었다.
이 원내대변인은 이원석 검찰총장 임명에 대해 "이원석 후보자는 국회 인사청문회에서 궤변과 무책임한 답변으로 검찰의 정치적 중립은 외면한 채, 검찰을 정권 안위의 방패와 정치보복을 위한 칼로 전락시킬 것임을 확인시켜줬다"면서 "대통령, 법무부 장관, 검찰총장을 하나의 직통라인으로 만들려는 윤 대통령의 마지막 퍼즐"이라고 주장했다.

또한 한기정 공정거래위원장에 대해선 "보험사의 시장 질서 교란 행위를 옹호하거나, 공정위가 조사 중인 사안에 대해 피조사 기업의 입장을 적극 옹호해 공정위원장 후보자로서 매우 부적합하다"며 "오늘의 임명 강행은 검찰 공화국을 완성하고, 재벌 대기업 위주의 시장 질서를 강화하겠다는 윤 대통령의 아집이다"라고 비판했다.
반면 국민의힘은 "심각한 결격사유가 없음에도 민주당이 청문보고서를 채택하지 않은 것은 국정 발목잡기에 불과하다"고 반박했다.
박정하 국민의힘 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "국정 공백이 장기화된다면 그 피해는 고스란히 국민의 몫일 것"이라며 "윤석열 정부는 국민을 위해 일하는 정부로서 언제나 민생을 최우선시하고 있다"고 강조했다.
그러면서 "야당은 불필요한 정쟁을 앞세워 국민을 피로하게 하지 말아야 할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
한편 윤석열 대통령은 이날 이원석 검찰총장과 한기정 공정거래위원장에 대한 임명을 재가하고 임명장을 수여하며 "어려움이 많으신데 고맙습니다"고 말했다.
