[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 합천의 대표 관광지인 합천영상테마파크 내에 200실 규모 호텔 착공기념식이 26일 오후 5시 청와대세트장 야외잔디정원에서 열렸다.
착공기념식에는 김윤철 군수, 조삼술 군의회의장, 장진영 도의원, 내빈, 사회기관단체장, 군민 등 300여명이 참석해 호텔의 안전한 공사와 성공적인 운영을 염원하기 위한 오케스트라 연주회 및 성악공연을 성황리에 마무리했다.
영상테마파크 호텔은 영상테마파크 내 한세일보 부지에 지상 7층 200실 규모의 호텔을 기부채납방식으로 건립하는 사업으로 레스토랑, 라운지바, 갤러리, 수영장 등을 포함해 올해 10월 중 착공, 2024년 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
군은 시행사인 합천관광개발유한회사와 ‘합천영상테마파크 숙박시설 조성사업’에 대한 투자 이행협약를 체결했고 호텔의 성공적인 운영을 위해 세계적인 경영역량과 운영 노하우를 보유한 ㈜호텔롯데를 운영사로 선정하게 됨으로써 영상테마파크 호텔의 성공적인 운영 기반을 마련하게 됐다고 밝혔다.
그동안 합천군은 천혜의 자연경관과 우수한 관광자원을 보유하면서도 숙박업과의 연계 부족으로 ’머물고 가는 관광지‘ 조성이 어려웠다.

군은 이번 호텔이 영상테마파크 내 랜드마크 건물 조성으로 새로운 볼거리를 제공하고 각종 영화드라마 촬영, 축제 등과 연계하겠다는 계획을 세워두고 있다.
특히 함양~울산간 고속도로 합천호 IC가 개통되는 2024년 호텔이 운영될 예정이라 관광객 유치 활성화로 시너지 효과가 극대화되고 지역경제 활성화와 고용 창출 효과도 클 것으로 기대하고 있다.
김윤철 합천군수는 ＂합천관광이 한 단계 도약하는 계기가 될 것＂이라며 “관광수요 증가와 합천군 이미지 가치를 상승시킬 이번 사업이 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 군의 역량을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.
