충남도의회 ‘국방 관련 기관 이전 특별위원회’ 구성

충남도의회가 국방도시로서 충남의 위상을 높이기 위해 국방 관련 기관 이전과 국방산단 조성을 위한 특별위원회를 구성한다.

도의회는 28일 열린 제340회 임시회 제4차 본회의에서 윤기형 의원(논산1·국민의힘)이 대표 발의한 ‘국방 관련 기관 이전과 국방산단 조성을 위한 특별위원회 구성 결의안’을 채택했다.

윤 의원은 “충남은 역사적으로 호국정신이 뚜렷한 지역으로, 특히 논산시에는 육군훈련소, 국방대학교, 육군항공학교 등이 있어 국방산업 클러스터 조성지로서 최적의 조건을 갖추고 있다”고 말했다.

이어 “이번 특별위원회 구성은 현재 이전 논의가 되고 있는 육군사관학교, 국방부, 국방연구원 등의 기관을 충남 남부권에 이전·유치하여 국방도시로서 충남도의 위상을 높이 세우기 위한 것”이라며 “지역 역량을 결집하고 도민의 공감대를 형성하여 타 지자체와의 유치 경쟁 등 현안에 적극 대응하고자 한다”고 다짐했다.
