브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 북한은 6일 중거리 탄도미사일(IRBM)을 발사한 지 이틀 만에 또 미사일 도발을 감행했다.
앞서 일본 상공을 넘겨 태평양으로 중거리 탄도미사일을 쏜 것과 관련해 미국 항모강습단이 다시 동해로 돌아온 것에 대한 무력시위로 풀이된다.
합동참모본부는 이날 오전 6시 경 북한이 평양 삼석 일대에서 동해상으로 발사한 단거리 탄도미사일(SRBM) 2발을 포착했다고 밝혔다.
첫 번째 미사일은 비행거리 350여㎞, 고도 80여㎞, 속도 약 마하 5였으며 두 번째 미사일은 비행거리 800여㎞, 고도 60여㎞, 속도 약 마하 6으로 탐지됐다고 설명했다.
합참은 발사된 미사일 2발은 서로 다른 종류라며 다양한 환경에서 운용 능력을 시험한 것으로 추정하고 있다. 미사일의 세부 제원은 한미 정보당국이 정밀 분석 중이라고 전했다.
일본 방위성 발표에 따르면 이번 발사한 탄도미사일은 배타적 경계수역 바깥에 떨어진 것으로 보인다.

이번 발사는 미국 핵추진 항공모함 '로널드 레이건'호를 비롯한 항모강습단이 동해로 재진입한 데에 대한 반발성 무력시위로 분석된다.
북한 외무성은 이날 새벽 발표한 공보문에서 "미국이 한반도 수역에 항모강습단을 다시 끌어들여 한반도와 주변 지역의 정세안정에 엄중한 위협을 조성하고 있다"면서 "미국과 일부 추종 국가들이 조선반도(한반도)의 군사적 긴장을 고조시키는 한미연합훈련들에 대한 우리 군대의 응당한 대응행동 조치를 유엔 안전보장이사회에 부당하게 끌고 간 데 대해 강력히 규탄한다"고 밝혔다.
이와 관련 국방부는 "북한의 연이은 탄도미사일 발사는 한반도는 물론 국제사회의 평화와 안정을 해치는 중대한 도발 행위이며, 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의에 대한 명백한 위반으로 이를 강력히 규탄하며 즉각 중단할 것을 촉구한다"면서 "북한의 추가 도발에 대비해 한미 간 긴밀한 공조 하에 관련 동향을 추적 감시하면서 확고한 대비태세를 유지해 나갈 것"이라고 강조했다.

North Korea launched another missile provocation two days after launching an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) on the 6th.
It is interpreted as an armed protest against the U.S. aircraft carrier's return to the East Sea in connection with the previous shooting of an intermediate-range ballistic missile over Japan into the Pacific Ocean.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected two short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) fired from Pyongyang's Samseok area toward the East Sea around 6 a.m.
The first missile was 350 kilometers in flight, 80 kilometers in altitude, and about Mach 5 in speed, and the second missile was detected with a flight distance of 800 kilometers, 60 kilometers in altitude, and about Mach 6 in speed.
The JCS estimates that the two missiles were of different types and tested their operational capabilities in various environments. The details of the missile are being analyzed closely by South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities.
According to a Japanese Defense Ministry report, the ballistic missile fired appears to have landed outside the exclusive boundary zone.
The launch is analyzed as a reaction to the re-entry of the aircraft carrier training group, including the U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Ronald Reagan," into the East Sea.
"The U.S. is bringing back aircraft carriers into the waters of the Korean Peninsula, creating a serious threat to the stability of the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas," the North's Foreign Ministry said in a statement early in the day.
"North Korea's successive ballistic missile launches are a serious provocation that harms peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula as well as the international community. We strongly condemn them as a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and urge them to stop immediately," the ministry said.
