브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한국, 미국, 일본 북핵 수석대표는 7일 북한의 연이은 도발에 대한 대응방안을 논의했다.
외교부는 이날 김건 한반도평화교섭본부장이 성 김 미국 대북특별대표, 후나코시 다케히로 일본 외무성 아시아·대양주국장과 유선협의를 가졌다고 밝혔다.
3국 수석대표는 "북한이 도발 중단 및 대화 복귀를 촉구하는 국제사회의 목소리를 외면한 채 지난 2주간 10발의 탄도미사일을 발사하면서 긴장을 고조시키고 있음을 강력히 규탄한다"고 강조했다. 북한의 탄도미사일 발사는 명백한 유엔 안보리 결의 위반이라는 점도 지적했다.
또한 "빈번한 미사일 발사를 통해 도발을 일상화하려는 북한의 시도를 묵과하지 않을 것"이라며 "북한의 모든 도발은 국제사회의 단합되고 단호한 대응에 직면하게 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
이에 따라 3국의 북핵대표는 북한의 핵·미사일 개발자금 조달을 차단하기 위해 암호화폐 탈취 및 불법 해상 환적 등을 막기위한 노력과 국제공조를 더욱 강화하기로 했다.
또한 북한이 핵 개발을 지속하며 국제사회를 위협하고 있는 상황에서 안보리가 침묵을 지켜선 안되며 단합해 대응해 나가야 한다고 강조했다.
아울러 3자 북핵대표는 앞으로도 소통과 공조를 지속해 나가기로 했다.
한편 유엔 안보리는 지난 5일(현지시간) 북한의 탄도미사일 발사를 규탄하기 위해 소집됐지만, 중국과 러시아가 북한을 옹호하며 그 책임이 미국이 있다고 책임을 돌린 탓에 규탄 성명은 내지 못하고 산회했다.
