한국타이어앤테크놀로지㈜(이하 한국타이어)가 서울 강남구와 대전 대덕구에 위치한 발달장애 특수학교 ‘밀알학교’, ‘해든학교’를 찾아 ‘우리들의 숲’ 조성 봉사활동을 전개했다.
11일 한국타이어에 따르면 지난7일 펼친 봉사활동은 특수학교 내에 다양한 식물이 어우러진 숲을 조성, 발달장애 학생들이 일상 속에서 자연을 체험할 수 있는 쾌적한 교육 환경을 제공하고자 진행됐다.
봉사활동에 참여한 한국타이어 임직원은 두 개 그룹으로 나눠어 각각 서울 밀알학교와 대전 해든학교를 방문해 숲 조성에 나섰다.
임직원들은 회사가 미리 준비한 플랜트 박스(Plant Box)에 상토 작업을 시작으로 20여 종의 꽃과 나무를 정성스럽게 식재했다.
이어 급수와 토양 상부 멀칭(돌깔기), 플랜트 박스 이동, 주변 정리를 끝으로 봉사활동을 마무리했다. 회사는 녹지 조성에 그치지 않고 향후 숲이 훼손되지 않도록 지속적인 모니터링과 유지 보수에 나선다는 계획이다.
특히 서울 밀알학교에 조성된 숲은 지역 주민들에게도 ‘힐링스팟(Healing Spot)’으로 개방되어 지역민의 긍정적인 인식과 관심을 유도할 것으로 기대된다.
한편, 올해 ‘벽화 그리기’, ‘목소리 나눔’, ‘우리들의 숲 조성’ 등 다양한 임직원 봉사활동을 펼친 한국타이어는 향후 다양한 소외계층을 대상으로 진정성 있는 봉사활동을 전개하며 지역사회 내 나눔의 가치 실천에 앞장선다는 계획이다.
