[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 산청군농협이 청정 자연환경에서 생산된 산청메뚜기쌀의 소비자 홍보를 위해 14일 차황면 점남마을 (금포림 체육공원)에서 제26회 산청메뚜기쌀 축제를 개최했다.

산청 북부 황매산 자락 차황면은 1980년대 후반부터 친환경농업을 도입하면서 사라졌던 메뚜기들이 돌아오기 시작해 오늘날 대표적인 친환경쌀 단지로 자리 잡았다.

‘산청메뚜기쌀 축제’는 지난 1990년 1회를 시작으로 소비자 현장체험을 통해 산청 메뚜기쌀과 친환경 농특산물을 홍보하기 위한 이벤트로 해마다 개최하고 있었지만 코로나19로 인하여 올해는 3년만에 개최하게 됐다.

산청군농협은 통영농협, 서울 관악농협, 거제 축산농협, 진해농협, 동창원농협, 서울 분당구미1동 부녀회, 종로청산 산악회 등 산청쌀을 애용하는 도시 소비자 단체와 자매결연 농협 임직원과 가족, 관내 지역민 등 800여명이 참여해 농촌의 가을 정취를 만끽했다.
