[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 월아산 숲속의 진주 찾아가는 체험 대상을 어린이에서 고령자까지 확대해 마을회관 노인들에게 호평을 받고 있다.
시에 따르면 찾아가는 체험은 코로나19로 인해 어린이집, 유치원, 초등학교 방문을 시작으로 산림복지 서비스를 더 많이 제공하기 위해 마을회관, 경로당, 쉼터 등까지 확대했다.
이에 노인 인구가 많은 문산, 금곡, 진성, 명석 등 읍면지역 마을회관과 동 지역 아파트 경로당 등 현재까지 461명이 참여해 시민들에게 많은 호응을 얻고 있다.
체험은 목공체험과 숲체험 2종류로, 마을 노인들의 목공체험 신청이 늘어 숲체험과 목공체험을 병행하며 맞춤형 프로그램으로 운영하고 있다.
진주시 관계자는 “찾아가는 체험 프로그램에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있어 산림교육 전문가를 충원해 오는 2023년부터는 기간을 정하지 않고 연중 운영할 예정이다”고 말했다.
