[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 경찰청과 중앙일보가 공동주최한 ‘제7회 대한민국 범죄예방대상’ 시상식에서 공공기관 부문 경찰청장상을 수상했다.
올해로 7회째를 맞는 ‘대한민국 범죄예방대상’은 범죄예방활동에 대한 사회적 관심을 키우고, 범죄로부터 안전한 지역사회 구축을 위해 비전과 성과가 우수한 공공기관 및 사회단체, 그리고 기업을 선정해 포상한다.
김해시는 김해중부경찰서를 비롯한 외국인 공동체 11개국과 외국인 이용시설 15개 대표와의 협업을 통해 외국인 주민의 각종 위험 상황 발생 시 능동적으로 대응할 수 있도록 민·관·경 협력체계를 구축하고 외국인 주민과 지역주민이 함께 어울려 생활하는 공동체 기반 조성을 추진한 공로를 높이 평가받아 수상의 영예를 안았다.
도내 최초로 외국인 가정폭력 피해 발생 시 전문 통역사가 부재해, 가정폭력 가해자가 피해자를 통역하는 부조리한 상황들을 해결하기 위해, 김해중부경찰서, (사)김해여성회부설 가정폭력상담소와 손잡고 상담관련 기본소양 교육을 실시해 10개 언어권 통역사 21명을 선발함으로써 가정폭력 사건조사 및 사후관리에 적극 투입되어 사회적 약자에 대한 선제적 보호 및 안전한 지역사회 정착을 도모한다.
