세종시가 지역화폐 ‘여민전’의 부정유통 단속을 실시한다.
세종시에 따르면 ‘여민전’의 부정유통 사용에 따른 불법행위 근절을 위해 오는 31일부터 11월 18일까지 일제단속을 벌인다.
지역화폐 부정유통 단속은 행정안전부의 ‘지역사랑상품권 부정유통 일제 단속 계획’에 따른 것으로 지난해 상반기를 시작으로 지난해 하반기, 올 상반기에 이은 4번째 단속이다.
세종시는 올해 상반기까지 시에 가맹점 등록을 하지 않고 지역화폐 매출이 발생하는 영업점인 미등록가맹점을 중점적으로 단속해왔다.
여민전은 결제 시 국세청에 매출이 자동 신고돼 일명 ‘상품권깡’과 같은 상품권 부정 유통발생이 적다.
이번 단속에서 세종시는 실제 매출금액 이상의 거래를 통해 상품권을 수취하는 행위 ,가맹점이 등록 제한 업종을 영위하는 행위 ,상품권 결제 거부 또는 상품권 소지자를 불리하게 대우하는 행위 등을 중점 단속할 계획이다.
세종시는 특히 부정유통이 적발된 영업점은 가맹점 등록 취소와 일정기간 가맹점 진입금지 행정처분 또는 ‘지역사랑 상품권법’에 따라 최대 2,000만 원의 과태료를 부과할 방침이다.
또한 위반 행위가 심각한 사안의 경우 수사기관에 수사를 의뢰하는 등 강력 대처에 나설 예정이라고 밝혔다.
