청년의 시적 순정을 고스란히 간직하고 있는 시인의 시집이 도서출판 봄싹에서 출간됐다. 노동 현장에서 일군 땀과 시편들로서 현실에 보이지 않는 현실을 포개놓은 리얼리즘의 시로 평가 받고 있다. 2010년 『분단과 통일시』 2집에 김규동 시인의 천거로 작품 활동을 시작한 박재웅 시인이 등단 십여 년 만에 묶어 낸 생애 첫 시집이다.
시집 『쟁이로 불린다는 건』은 일과 시가 어떻게 조화를 이루며 생활에 핍진하게 녹아들었는지 잘 보여주고 있다. 자본주의 사회에서 가장 튼튼한 주춧돌 역할을 하는 노동이 오히려 소외되는 현실 속에서 삶의 일상성을 드러냈다는 점에서 앙리 르페브르의 현대성 이미지를 잘 담고 있다. 그처럼 새롭게 가치 부여된 일상이 이번 시집에 편편이 빛난다.
